Households and placed staff, at any hour: (206) 014-6182

LarchcombeSeattle · Est. 1961

From this month, the households we act for and the staff we place can sign in to the Register, the agency’s record of its placements, from the link at the top of every page of this site.

What you will find there

Households will find each of their current and past placements, the staff file for each member of staff we have placed with them, their agreements and invoices, and the date on which each placement’s guarantee ends.

Staff will find their placement letter, the agreements they have signed, the Residence Code, the hours they have recorded, and notices from the office.

Signing in

You sign in with your Register number and a passphrase. Households will find their Register number on their terms of business, and staff on their placement letter. Each placement letter and each set of terms issued since April also carries a first passphrase. Please change it the first time you sign in; the Register will ask you to, but it will not insist.

If you have lost your passphrase, call the office during office hours and we will issue a new one. Staff who live in may also ask their house manager, who under the Residence Code holds a sealed copy.

What the Register is

The Register is ours. It was built for us, it is kept on our own systems, and it holds nothing we did not already keep on paper. It is, in every way that matters, the card index Dorothy Thayer began at her kitchen table in 1961, with a lock on it. The cards themselves, all 11,206 of them, have been entered by hand over the past nine months by Lena, Tomás and Bridget in the back office, to whom we owe a very large lunch.
