What we know about the households we act for, and about you if you have visited this site or written to us, and what we do with it.
Last updated January 12, 2026.
Who we are
Larchcombe Domestic Agency, Inc., trading as Larchcombe, of 1824 Tarrant Place West, Seattle, Washington 98119. Write to privacy@larchcombe.com with any question about this notice. Candidates should also read our candidate privacy notice.
What we collect
For households: the names and contact details of the principals and of anyone acting for them; the address of each residence where we place staff; the brief for each search; our notes of the visit; agreements, invoices and payments; and, where a household asks us to run payroll, what that requires. For visitors to this site: nothing, unless you write to us or sign in to the Register. For people who write to us: what you tell us.
Why we use it
To find, place and support staff for the household; to invoice and be paid; to keep the records the law requires of us; and to defend ourselves if we have to. We do not use information about households for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it except as this notice describes.
Who we share it with
Candidates invited to interview learn the household’s account number, neighborhood and, at the interview, its name. Our Swiss partner sees what it needs for Swiss placements. Our accountants, lawyers and insurers see what they need to advise us. We disclose information when the law requires us to, and not otherwise.
How long we keep it
For as long as we act for a household, and for seven years afterwards, after which we delete it, except the card that records each placement, which we have kept since 1961 and intend to go on keeping.
How we protect it
Our records are kept in the Register, on our own systems, and are seen only by the people who need to see them. Households and staff sign in to the Register with a number and a passphrase. Paper files are kept in locked cabinets at Tarrant Place.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, the law may give you the right to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to some uses of it, and to complain. Write to us and we will answer within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the data protection or consumer protection authority where you live.
